United Way of Northeast Florida recently announced a series of community investments that focused on improving the financial well being of adults in Northeast Florida. Included in the grants announced was the Literacy Alliance of Northeast Florida which will be expanding its adult education classes with job certifications in digital literacy. Additionally, the support will also launch the first ever community based job placement program for adult learners. The resulting outcomes will provide new opportunities for adults that have improved their literacy skills or attained their GED to also work toward job certifications and be supported in their search for quality employment opportunities.
