Literacy Alliance President & CEO, Marcus Haile, participated in a panel discussion with Dr. Diana Greene and Ronnie King to discuss the issue of literacy and share opportunities for adult learners in our community.
Unlocking the future for children is a partnership between parent and child. Through our own partnership with the Children’s Literacy Initiative, the Literacy Alliance worked with former Superintendent Dr. Diana Greene and the Children’s Literacy Initiative to screen a new documentary by Stephen Curry called Sentenced. Also joining the partnership was Ronnie King from My Village Project. Each organization shared information on how individuals could get involved in improving literacy for all ages.
At the event, we also recognized Sgt. Lashanda Frazier from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office with the Adult Literacy Champion Award for her efforts in supporting the Literacy Alliance’s adult literacy program in the local jail.
